Why Odsonne Edouard is the right man for Leicester
Leicester City made the loan signing of French international Odsonne Edouard on transfer deadline day of the summer transfer window. Leicester previously had an interest in the striker during the summer of 2021, but Leicester opted to sign Zambian international, Daka ahead of him. The striker then completed a move to premier league side Crystal Palace in 2021 after the Leicester deal collapsed. Edouard scored 18 goals in 95 appearances at Crystal Palace before deciding late on deadline day to join Leicester City, after Crystal Palace announced the signing of Eddie Nketiah.

The striker is known for his physical hold-up style of play and his physical presence in aerial duels, which he has a strong record of winning due to his height of 1.87 m and is also known for his impressive goal-scoring record at Celtic where he scored 86 goals from 179 games. Edouard has a similar hold-up style of play to former Leicester forward, Kelechi Iheanacho.
Odsonne Edouard cannot make his Leicester City debut in Leicester’s next premier league game against Crystal Palace as he cannot play against his parent club but will be able to make his debut in the following game.
